Motorola’s new Razr 5G takes up the style of previous generations, refining and renewing it from a technological point of view. Once folded, the new Razr measures 72.6mm x 91.7mm x 16mm, and the squared body fits snugly in the palm. It has a glass front and back held together by a sturdy metal frame. Weight in at 192 grams, the smartphone may appear heavy, but it is well balanced.

The hinge mechanism is sturdy, and the opening action is smooth or creak-free. As a result, the Razr 5G is functional and worthy of consideration by those considering switching smartphones.

Motorola Razr 5G technical specifications

The device offers the speed of the 5G mobile connection. The 5G antenna is hidden inside the chin, which explains its size. The primary camera – which doubles as a selfie lens when folded – is 48-megapixel with Quad Pixel technology and can record video at up to 4K at 60 fps. The photographic sector is completed with an internal 20-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. The camera takes excellent daytime images but seems to struggle with color balance in low light.

The 2.7-inch Quick View external display offers tools and features to interact with your smartphone quickly and easily. Unfortunately, the phone has no headphone jack but comes with a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter for those who don’t want to use Bluetooth.

The fingerprint reader is located on the back of the unit, where the company logo is reproduced. The main screen has a water-repellent coating. Once opened, the Razr 5G reveals a 6.2-inch Flex View OLED display in a 21: 9 aspect ratio, making it ergonomic for one-handed operation. In addition, the hinged design and zero-gap closure allow the device to be folded back on itself without leaving any gaps, protecting the internal panel and making the Razr 5G very compact.

There is the fingerprint sensor on the back, inside the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory. It houses a 2,800mAh battery without wireless charging, and a nano-sim slot, without expandable memory. The operating system is Android 10.

The price is from the premium range: from 1,599.99 euros. It’s not cheap, and there are many options out there that have a better screen, camera, and processor and cost less. However, when it comes to foldable phones, the Razr 5G is certainly among the best. In summary:
